SUMTER LANDING BICYCLE CLUB

YALAHA BAKERY RIDE 2019

MARCH 23, 2019

About The Ride: Our annual Yalaha Bakery Ride will start and end at the Yalaha Bakery, an Old-World German bakery/deli in the tiny village of Yalaha, FL where cyclists will tour the rural countryside of Lake County. The routes skirt the shores of Lake Harris and wind through colorful citrus groves. More than 100 cyclists and non-rider guests have enjoyed this ride each year.  For non-riders there is a Craft and Farmer’s Market adjacent to the bakery.

RoutesThere are distances for all riding levels including 10, 16, 25, 30, 37 and 50-mile loops.  All routes are mapped with cue sheets and all roads will be marked with directional arrows. Sag service is also provided.

Terrain: Fairly flat to rolling on the 10, 16 and 25 mile routes with hills on the longer 30, 37 and 50 mile routes.

Please volunteer to help! You can help in one of the following: assisting in marking the routes, registration, photography, parking lot attendants, moving picnic benches, leading a ride, sag service, and of course cleanup. Please let us know if you can provide transportation for other riders and bicycles to Yalaha. Contact Jack Logomarsino (352-430-5487; adventurecyclist@hotmail.com

Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. The bakery features delicious German Breads plus Old-World tortes and pastries for dessert.  While you eat, enjoy complimentary live music on the patio from 11 am to 2 pm.

Food: The bakery and patio will be very crowded with club members and other guests. Please order and prepay for your lunch at the designated SLBC Registration Table in the Yalaha Bakery parking lot before the ride. This procedure will greatly expedite the service of your luncheon. Service will be delayed if you order your lunch after the ride. Cold luncheon orders are processed more quickly. Cold luncheon orders will be available for pickup at 11 am in the patio. Hot meals will take extra prep time. Hot meals will be served at 11:30 am.

Luncheon Order Form:  The form is available on the SLBC website. You can prepay in cash, check or credit card. Please provide tips in cash. For fastest service, have your completed form ready before you arrive. If you wish to buy breads or pastries from the bakery, you might purchase them before the ride while the bakery is less crowded.

Designated AreaPicnic tables are being reserved for the SLBC, but consider bringing a folding chair.
