Sebring Cycling Getaway 4 Days - 3 Nights Limited to 12 riders + their non-riding guests
Day 1
Sebring Marriott Residence Inn
Day 2
Today our route passes along Lake Jackson with its elegant houses and then heads rural as we skirt around and eventually enter the historic "city" of Sebring. The town center is actually a circle with the streets heading out straight off the circle. Leaving town we head into orange grove country toward our lunch stop at Sandy's Cafe 98. Sandy's is a typical rural Florida breakfast and lunch restaurant. You are guaranteed not to leave hungry. We expect to be back at the hotel in plenty of time to relax before driving to our dinner at Cowpoke's Watering Hole in Sebring.
Day 3
After passing through Sebring's old town, we head out into orchard country, again, cycling along lightly traveled roads. Along the way we pass The Lake Wales National Wildlife Refuge, the first refuge for endangered plant species. Lunch is in the quaint town of Avon Park. The restaurant is one of a kind. You'll see why. On the way back to the hotel we'll stop in Sebring for an ice cream. Dinner this evening is at the nearby Chicanes Restaurant
Day 4
Today's destination is the Highlands Hammock State Park. This 30 mile ride travels back in time through an ancient hammock where we discover a beautiful, delicate ecosystem. We may even see some endangered species in this truly unique park. There is a $2 per bicycle entry fee payable in $2 cash, exact change required.
